Amazon’s Prime Now Brings 1-hour Delivery to Seattle
Amazon announced Tuesday that it has expanded its one-hour delivery service to Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond and Kirkland. Prime Now is a benefit available through the mobile app exclusively for Prime members. It offers free two-hour delivery in addition to one-hour delivery for $7.99.
From 8 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week, Prime members can order items such as wine and beer, ice cream, and televisions, among other things.
The service aims to save customers a trip to the store.
“Customers love the convenience of one-hour delivery and we’re excited to bring Prime Now to our hometown customers in Seattle and surrounding areas,” said Stephenie Landry, director of Amazon’s Prime Now service.
Members need to download the Prime Now app to use the service.
Prime Now first launched in Manhattan last December.
Earlier this month, Amazon came under fire after the New York Times published a devastating report on the working conditions at Amazon. CEO Jeff Bezos responded with an memo to employees defending the company.
