Apple’s iPhone 7 will reportedly have one more subtle design change, no camera ‘bump’

February 3, 2016 By Ellen Smith

If we had to deduct points for the iPhone 6/6S design, we’d probably do it for that unsightly camera bump on the back.

Instead of lining up with the phone’s surface, the camera lens protrudes a few millimeters — not ideal when you want to place the phone on its back onto a firm surface.

According to a new MacRumors report, however, the upcoming iPhone 7 won’t have the same problem, with the new, thinner iPhone camera sitting flush with the phone’s back.

A recent rumor claimed that the iPhone 7 Plus is likely to have two rear cameras, while the regular iPhone 7 will have only one. It’s not entirely clear whether both devices will lose the camera bump; hopefully yes, but we’re in rumor territory here, so anything’s possible.

The iPhone 7 will have one more subtle design change, according to the same source: There won’t be any antenna bands on its back, only along the phone’s edges.

Previous iPhone 7 rumors claimed the phone would be super thin and that it might not have a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Currently, however, the Apple rumor mill is more concerned with a possible March event, when the company is expected to launch a 4-inch phone, an updated iPad Air and some minor updates to the Apple Watch.
