Each year, during the Kukur Tihar festival, hindus in Nepal celebrate man’s best friend. The festival is part of a larger five-day celebration called Tihar, which is considered one of the most important Hindu festivals. Each day of Tihar is devoted to a different animal or object of worship, including cows, crows and dogs. The Nepal celebration honors the powerful relationship between humans, gods and animals.
