Fans Slap and Kiss Actor Aamir Khan Virtually
Last week, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s comments on growing intolerance in India have got a range of reactions, including websites where you can slap and kiss the actor. A few days ago, two students from the Miami Ad School decided to respond to an announcement by a leader from the Maharashtra-based political party Shiv Sena to reward Rs 0.1 million to anyone who slapped the actor.
They created a website where anyone could virtually slap Khan, after which his image would change into the bruised face of one of the characters played by him in the past. “Slapaamir.com is for humour and creative purposes only and does not represent any political views of the people involved. Please be tolerant of our humor,” the website stated.
Following criticism on social media, Slap Aamir has now transformed into Kiss Aamir, a website where a user can kiss the actor to show support. As the kiss-shaped cursor moves over Khan’s picture, his face morphs into that of the romantic characters that he’s played in various films. The tagline of the website is “Kisses. More Love. Less Slaps”, while disclaimer states that the websites is “for love and fun purposes only”. “Please spread the tolerance of our love only,” it adds.
