Son Charged With Murder of Parents
Medical examiners say a Connecticut couple whose remains were found last week, three months after they disappeared, died from gunshot wounds.
The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office said Thursday that Jeanette Navin was shot in her “torso and extremities” and Jeffrey Navin was shot in his “trunk.” The agency didn’t elaborate.
The Easton couple disappeared Aug. 4 and their bodies were found Oct. 29 behind a vacant home in neighboring Weston.
Police charged their son, Kyle Navin, with murder and his girlfriend, Jennifer Valiante, with conspiracy to commit murder. Navin’s lawyer declined to comment on the charges and Valiante denies any involvement in the killings.
Authorities say Jeanette Navin was upset about her son’s drug use and behavior, and the couple was planning to cut their son out of their will.
