Watch the Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 Event
For all of you anxiously anticipating Samsung’s next Unpacked event, the wait is over. The event begins at 11 a.m. Eastern Time on Thursday August 13, and Mashable is ready. You can follow our liveblog here, but you can also follow the event on Samsung’s YouTube page.
You can also watch it directly on Samsung’s website.
The phones have leaked enough to leave little to the imagination, but we’re finally about to get the full details behind Samsung’s latest Galaxy phones.
Samsung is expected to reveal two large-screened new phones, the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (say that five times fast.) The Note 5 will likely have a metal-and-glass design, like its Galaxy S6 brother. That also means no removable battery, and no microSD card slot. The productivity-centered phone will likely still pack a stylus.
The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is a larger version of the S6 Edge, released earlier this year. It’ll likely have a screen comparable in size to the Note, but curves around the left and right edges of the phone.
This year’s Unpacked event is coming quite a bit early. Samsung typically holds it in the fall, but there’s been rampant speculation that Samsung wants to get out ahead of Apple’s rumored upcoming iPhone launch, which is said to be happening Sept. 9, although there’s been no official confirmation.
