You Can Now Hide Specific People on Google Photos
Sometimes, you just don’t want to remember certain people — an ex, maybe — but you don’t want to erase all those old photos, either. The new version of Google Photos for Android (1.8) has a solution: It now lets you hide a specific person from appearing under People.
If you do that, that person will also stop appearing in the “Rediscover this day” cards in Google Photos’ Assistant feature.
Other new features in Google Photos include pinching to zoom in and out in search results, as well as face grouping now being available in more countries, including Latin America, Canada, the Caribbean, Australia and New Zealand, as well as parts of Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
The app also brings the usual array of unspecified bug fixes and improvements.
While the new version of Google Photos is currently only available for Android (get it on Google’s Play Store), Google claims it’s coming to the web and iOS “very soon.”
